Drew, I’ve been down several times to the Pub and would love to play…Sunday the 14th eh? The way Preston is playing if I have a good match I may be picked for their starting XI!

Drew, Been down to Piper’s several times and would love to play if that is OK. The way Preston NE is playing if I have a good match I may make their starting XI!

I’ll do my utmost to be there on the 14th. I have an important paper due the next day, but will try to finish it by Saturday. Look forward to seeing all of you again.

Drew, I don’t know if I can make it.

  10. Drew said | October 7th, 2007 at 9:28 am

  11. hobo9917 said | October 8th, 2007 at 8:56 am

    Brendan,

We will blast one over the bar from 6 yards out in your honour.

  12. Marie said | October 8th, 2007 at 2:14 pm

I will be there. I will be sure to drag Matt out too.

  13. Drew said | October 8th, 2007 at 4:00 pm

Tommy I think we need you to sub again our Irishman will not fly out for any of the international Piper’s matches.

  14. Bob said | October 8th, 2007 at 6:42 pm

I’ll be there, sadly, as a spectator. I’m having a bone scan next Tuesday. Still not fully healed after eight long weeks. It’s getting rather frustrating. I really look forward to playing again soon!

  17. Pitt Evertonian said | October 9th, 2007 at 12:39 pm

  18. Drew said | October 9th, 2007 at 2:20 pm

  19. Marie said | October 9th, 2007 at 2:36 pm

Noon sounds good. I am also going to be inviting a fried of mine to play.

  20. andy said | October 10th, 2007 at 2:40 am

hey drew, i make it to the pub relatively often considering i still regularly coach and play on the weekeneds. i’d like to come play in a match but i understand if some of the regular guys might not welcome the idea of a 23 yr old running around. please let me know though cuz from reading the blogs about the other games it sounds like they are a good time.

    ps. united for the treble!!

  21. Drew said | October 10th, 2007 at 4:08 am

We do not mind 23yr olds running around. We just don’t chase them!

  22. hobo9917 said | October 10th, 2007 at 8:24 am

    Andy can mark Shane.

  23. bobby said | October 10th, 2007 at 9:10 am

sounds like we may have a full squad a side…My italian buddy might play too

  24. MJ said | October 10th, 2007 at 12:43 pm

I might be bringing someone along as well.

  25. MJ said | October 10th, 2007 at 12:44 pm

And we’re at the Harlequins field again, right?

  26. Drew said | October 10th, 2007 at 4:18 pm

    Yes at founders field.

  27. andy said | October 11th, 2007 at 2:17 am

thanks guys, looking forward to it…

  28. bobby said | October 11th, 2007 at 9:15 am

Hey everyone, I was thinking(which I know I shouldn’t do) about Sunday and a couple things came to mind. Make sure everyone brings a dark and a white shirt. Also since it is probably the last pub match of the year, I was going to ask everyone to bring some type of food to the game(Pretzels, chips, cookies, and we always need some beer!). This way we aren’t eating 5 hot dogs a piece haha. Last but not least, if you are coming from the city on 28, you might want to leave a bit early since it is still down to one lane from the rock slide.

    See everyone on Sunday,
    Bobby

I bet we could use McKinney park in the North Hills. Theres 5 or 6 pitches so one should be open.

  30. bobby said | October 11th, 2007 at 9:25 pm

I agree with Richard, North Park is our best bet…please spread the word around to make sure everyone knows.

Thanks guys Mckinney Park sounds great I do not know much about it . First come first Serve?

  33. ipswich dom said | October 12th, 2007 at 5:39 am

hey guys, will the gates be unlocked for McKinney? Is it a public park?

    Cheers

  34. hobo9917 said | October 12th, 2007 at 6:55 am

Its public. The only time I’ve seen the gates locked is on holidays. Plus I know another field if need be thats close and is never being used.

  35. Drew said | October 12th, 2007 at 7:41 am

Directions and info for first timers can be found here. We will kick off at Noon. Tony please bring a faster watch I am still sore from the last match!

  37. Marie said | October 12th, 2007 at 7:58 am

So its back to Founders field then right? I think its more comfortable there then at McKinney. There are no bleachers there and the pitches are hard as a rock.

    Ill make some pasta salad.

  38. Pitt Evertonian said | October 12th, 2007 at 8:19 am

Tony doesn’t have a watch anyways. He uses an hour glass to keep time. See everyone on Sunday.

  39. bobby said | October 12th, 2007 at 8:40 am

Thats great news Drew, I will see everyone there on Sunday with adult beverages and some snacks.

  40. Drew said | October 12th, 2007 at 9:10 am

An hourglass is better than a Sun Dial.

  41. hobo9917 said | October 12th, 2007 at 9:22 am

Especially in Pittsburgh. We would only be able to tell time about 30 days a year.

  42. bobby said | October 12th, 2007 at 1:56 pm

Drew, if nots too much to ask…some plastic forks…if need me to get some let me know

  43. Drew said | October 12th, 2007 at 4:41 pm

Forks plates ect will be there for everyone. No problem…..

  44. MJ said | October 14th, 2007 at 3:27 pm

Drew and all, thanks once again for a great time! See everyone this coming Saturday bright and early.

  45. Drew said | October 15th, 2007 at 6:10 am

Thanks again to everyone who played yesterday. I have had a great time playing in the first four matches and hope to play many more next year. I think March will be the next time we can play at Founders. If we can get an indoor venue for the winter months I’ll be glad to host another. Again thanks to everyone who played, Watched and made food for all four matches.

  46. Pitt Evertonian said | October 15th, 2007 at 7:06 am

    Drew,

Thanks for putting on another match. I had a great time running around, but I am paying for it today. Both quads and calves are shot and it is painful just walking around. Yesterday was the perfect day to have a match.

  47. NorthEnder said | October 16th, 2007 at 11:47 am

    Drew,
Thanks for putting it all together is was a good time. If anyone found my lungs please bring them to the pub, I’ll get them there.

  48. Drew said | October 16th, 2007 at 7:20 pm

All the lungs we found including my own are in the dumpster. There were simply too many to fit in my van.

  49. Drew said | October 16th, 2007 at 7:24 pm

P.S. There is a gentleman who owns an indoor facility near Founders Field that contacted us today who is coming in for the England Match in the morning and he may be able to help us out for the winter months. The best part of it he has not seen our skills: unless he checked out the u tube clip from the third match that is !!!!!!

  50. bobby said | October 16th, 2007 at 9:09 pm

there are some good skills in that clip…nando’s flip to my save. We got a good third division squad at least

  51. MJ said | October 20th, 2007 at 9:09 pm

Here we go you young speedsters from Piper’s FC …
