I’m in! After getting my ass kicked at indoor over the next three months I should be in playing shape by the time spring rolls around. I’ll even practice my throw-ins!

Just a quick update. We paid to get into the 2nd division of the over 30 leagues.
We will need to locate a home field.
Eight games in the spring, 8 in the fall. Playoffs also in the fall.
A small fee for each player to register for the team will be needed.
Piper’s Pub will cover ref fees for the games.
Players will also need to register with the league for $20 per.
I have secured a sponsor for the kits. They will cover a good bit of the cost.
We will need both home and away.
As we get more details we will post here.

I hereby motion that Tony be named the manager/head coach of the Pipers football team. Thank you so much Drew for your help to make this happen.

If you need a really out of shape defender who hasn’t played in about ten years, by all means, I’m in.

  14. PhillyTom said | January 11th, 2008 at 5:36 pm

If this posted the first time, sorry. It should probably be amended anyway. If you need a really out of shape, totally incompetent, slow-as-can-be defender who not only hasn’t played in eight years, but can be guaranteed to be good for nothing and will probably hurt the team way more than he’ll ever help, then by all means, count me in. For those who have been asking Alex came up with the name for our team. He is currently working on the logo right now. We have also secured the web addresses for the club pages and will begin working on a site. We have decided to call ourselves the “Tartan Devils”.
    Drew
p.s. I second the motion for Tony as manager…….

Perfect name, Drew & Alex! I worked on a logo that has the pub’s tartan as background. Perhaps it can add something to whatever Alex has come up with so far. Can someone provide me with Alex’s email address? FORZA TARTAN DEVILS!!!!

  17. MJ said | January 11th, 2008 at 6:49 pm

    TARTAN DEVILS!!

Glad to be a part of it.

Hallo - this over 30 team sounds interesting. I’d like a shot at it if there’s a spot for a midfielder!
